“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35
We believe that the prayer of the faithful can lead to amazing out pourings of God's blessings. Jesus said:
“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
These pages are dedicated to our prayers for the work of ROPE and to uphold our partners, ROPEholders, around the world. They are often faced with overwhelming needs and limited resources. Above all they need the Holy Spirit to give them discerning wisdom.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” Ephesians 6:18

Over the coming months we are using some of the verses from the Bible as a prayer anchor that are marked out in the Poverty and Injustice Bible published in 2008. It highlights over 2000 verses to "wake us up to issues of Poverty and Justice and on what we can do to tackle poverty and injustice in our world today." For September we anchor our prayers in Malachi 3 verse 10: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."

“Thank you lord for your servant Malachi who was filled with the Spirit and spoke words from you, acting as your voice piece to the people of his day – and ever since. This chapter three starts with the comforting assertion, "I the LORD do not change." I thank you that we can return time and again to this certainty. You never change Lord, despite our fickle nature as humans we can be sure of this unswerving fact. Bless you Father for your promises which are never broken, for your solution for the world which is irrevocably being worked out and for your grace poured out through Jesus, the Son.
If we have wandered away from your will these last weeks, then draw us back Lord. Help us stick to the path that you have set before us. Give us perseverance in the face of opposition. Fill us with the Holy Spirit that we are supernaturally armed to confront the risk of backsliding from you in our life.
Malachi accuses us of robbing you Lord. That is a hard word. It hurts to be thus judged. But surely we have put ourselves before loving others even if unconsciously. Our decisions have been wrongly motivated at times. Our generosity lacking. We need you to help us get in the right mind, the right thinking that we see the amazing unconditional love of Jesus and respond accordingly. How can we hold anything back when you have loved us so much, without partiality, taking us as we are.
We want to return to you and bring our whole tithe into your storehouse. Give us the right heart that we may test you Lord in the outworking of your promise presented in Malachi. What impedes us in the West from being more generous in our giving? How is that materialism has invaded our thinking with such an impact? Renew our minds that we might start to be charitable in ways that will surprise even ourselves.
Let us receive the blessings, the floodgates o f heaven as we act through ROPE; not as a return for our efforts but as an act of grace because you love us.
May you help us to keep focus across the work of ROPE, in the office in the UK and in the countries. Lord we especially pray for the aftermath of the floods in Pakistan. Use the generous gifts of ROPE supporters in recent days to relieve suffering in that country and to expand your kingdom. You say in Malachi, "I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him." Spare many in Pakistan, just as you have been doing.
Take this prayer and move Holy Spirit to transform lives at risk. Take our offerings of money, time and prayers and multiply the impact of ROPE in the world to the glory of your name: Jesus. Amen

“Thank You Lord You go before us, preparing the way. Show us where in the world people live in great need especialy those persecuted and abused for the sake of the Gospel. Help those overwhelmed by natural disasters helpless without the prayers and humanitarian aid we can offer.”
