What's the difference?

We are often asked what distinguishes the work of ROPE from the work of other larger and better known charities. The answer was summed up by one of our ROPEholders from Colombia last year. He said "If I need a relatively small amount of funds to make a meaningful difference to people who have nothing, for example to replace cooking utensils for a displaced family, and I go to the large aid agencies, they will tell me that they can't help because my request is too small! They can only handle relatively large-scale projects. I know that I can turn to ROPE." That's our niche. "Small is beautiful."
