Our partners aim to transform the lives of destitute mothers and children in the deprived community of Lay Gaynt, north east Ethiopia.

Yehudit left school at 17 when she was forced into an arranged marriage.

After her husband died unexpectedly, she was left caring for her elderly mother and two very young children, on an income of £1 a day.

By working with our partners, her children have received clothes and free medical treatment.  They are also attending our partner's pre-school, enabling Yehudit to extend her working hours.

She has joined one of our partner's income generating groups  - the food preparation group - and recently earned an additional £25.

It costs £17 to support a woman and child for a month.
