We Walked 4 Dignity!

Huge thank you to all the ladies who stepped out and walked in support of our partners Andy and Andrea and the women they seek to support in Bolivia.

64 women came together on the day and walked 10 miles to raise money so that 5 women can gain dignified employment at our partners' social enterprise Sutisana.

This event is the second Women Walking 4 Women and all those attending commented it on being a very special day.

Target achieved!

We are still counting the pennies but are delighted to announce that with match funding we have achieved our target of £20,000.

The Day

Women gathered at Christ Church Chorleywood and were joined by Andrea, who, with her husband Andy, had flown over 6,000 from Bolivia to be with us - overcoming 4 flights and jetlag!!

The 10 mile walk took in Sarratt Village and a lunchtime stop at The Plough at Belsize  near Chipperfield.  Then the return journey with a quick stop at Crestyl Farm for an ice cream back to Christ Church for tea and cake!

It was wonderful to see the event being supported by so many women, from young people to the more mature and even a lady, who is six months pregnant - all stepping out together in faith to support our women and their families, whose personal journeys have been very challenging.

Women came together and walked with others from their local church as well as Mum and daughters walking.

Before leaving on the walk, Andy and Andrea showed a short video, where some of the women being supported shared their stories.  Many of the women walking spoke of how the images of these women and their stories really motivated them to walk.

Comments on the Day!

A really fabulous day!

A brilliantly organised walk.

A real privilege to be walking to raise money that is really going to change the lives of other women!

It has been fun!

I look forward to doing it all again next year...
