Lenten Appeal- Helping homeless Helen Helen, 30, and her husband John, 60, are victims of war... having seen two children killed and their home destroyed. Like 1.5 million Ugandans, they have been forced to live in an internally displaced persons camp, helpless, traumatized and bitter. However it is amazing to see how the simple act of growing groundnuts has brought dignity and hope to Helen and her family’s life. She has successfully learnt to grow enough groundnuts to buy a goat, pay her children’s school fees and build a house! She thanks God for the blessings she has received and sends her deeply felt thanks to Rope supporters for the love and kindness shown to her. Lenten Appeal Our partners offer crucial training for farmers like Helen. This year we are looking to help 200 farmers, who suffered a poor harvest last year due to severe drought. We need your help to provide the farmers with drought resistant groundnuts, each bag costs £30 and will make a huge difference.
