Riya comes from a very poor family which struggles. Her father is a musician and only gets money when he can find work.  Their mother also works bringing in a little income.  They had been struggling to care for all their children and asked for Riya to come to the home in 2010.

Over 7 years, she has worked hard and is a good student, normally coming 2nd in her class.  She loves studying science and enjoys sport including badminton.  She is also a prayerful girl, keen to study her Bible and showed her depth of knowledge in a recent fun test at Sunday School, gaining 3rd prize!

She is so very happy to be at the home, to continue to study and hopes to become a teacher.

She has been having sight problems in her left eye and is taking medication.  If this does not fix the problem she might have to have surgery, something she is understandably worried about.  We ask that you pray for her that the Lord heals her.

Brighter Futures

Riya lives with 25 other children at the Jehovah Jireh Home in Palakonda.  All of these children are supported at the home and through their education by our child group sponsorship scheme called Brighter Futures.
