On 3rd March, Andy, Simon and Jonny from County Financial, long term supporters of Rope, tackled an incredibly muddy 21km assault course called the ‘Winter Nuts Challenge’. To make matters worse it was on one of the coldest weekends in over a decade, so the team faced cold and icy water as well.
However the team were stoical in their endeavour as they knew that the money they would raise would transform the lives of women and girls in eastern Uganda. The team wanted to raise enough money to build a borewell close to their villages, curtailing the need for women and girls to walk 2-3 kilometres every day to collect water. With a borewell built getting water becomes a quicker job giving women time to go to work and girl to go to school.
As a result of their brave efforts and the generous support of their friends, family and clients of County Financial, Andy, Simon and Jonny exceeded their fundraising target and have raised enough funds to build two boreholes.
Thank you guys!
