In 2019, our partners in the Philippines will be working with 100 marginalised Muslim women from 6 villages surrounding Zamboanga City. All are either widowed or abandoned by their husbands and left to care for their children. Our partners are helping them to develop skills so they can gain employment or establish small income generation businesses, including their hugely popular baking workshops. Irene, who couldn’t work due to her epilepsy condition, has gained training and is now running her own small baking business!
Please consider swapping a bunch of flowers for your mother for our alternative gift, which will train a woman in the Philippines to bake. For each gift purchased we will send a Lifeline card with details about the gift and space for you to write a personal message.
You might instead wish to purchase this gift in memory of your mother. If so, please tell us and we can provide you with a commemorative card.
